Steve Crook

Steve Crook has more than 37 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, particularly in the field of international reinsurance, where he has acted as a reinsurance intermediary and as a reinsurance underwriter.

His work in reinsurance markets has included vice presidency roles at ICMIF and Tryg-Baltica International, where he was involved in underwriting reinsurance business in English-speaking markets.

Steve has been involved in helping newly formed insurance companies, particularly in Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean. In addition to designing and placing the reinsurance programs of new insurers, he also advised on business plans and operations, including underwriting and claims. He is the co-author of a reinsurance manual and one of the chief developers of six insurance/reinsurance business simulations. Steve passed the Chartered Insurance Institute examinations at Associate level in 1986.

Steve’s current focus is on insurance and reinsurance consultancy. His particular specialty is learning and development through the use of computer-based insurance business simulations.
